Kimono Jack Gijón 2011

Hello to all and Merry Christmas.

Este año estoy pensando en organizar un kimono jack en Gijón. De momento somos 7 personas pero si alguien más tiene el gusto de asistir que se ponga en contacto conmigo. Será una cosa muy sencilla: Vernos, pasear, comentar, incluso si la gente se anima un picnic. La fecha en concreto la iremos viendo según se apunte la gente. A ver si podemos solucionarlo. Cualquier sugerencia es bienvenida. Espero que os animeis.

This year I am thinking about organizing kimono jack in Gijón. At the moment we are 7 people but if somebody wants to attend please get in touch. It will be a very simple thing: To see us, to take a walk, to comment, even if people animate a picnic. The date in particular we will be it seeing according to scores people. Let see if we can solve it. All sugestions are wellcome. I hope that you join us.

Más pañuelos More Scarfs

Aquí teneis la nueva remesa de mis pañuelos shibori de seda. Aún estoy trabajando el resto, espero poder enseñároslos pronto.
Here is the new remittance of shibori silk scarfs. Still I am working the rest, I hope to be able to show them soon.

 Esta es la única que no está realizada con shibori sino con batik.

In this I didn't use shibori but batik technique.

Nagoya Obi Bordado Embroidery Nagoya Obi

Hoy tengo que empezar dando las gracias a Lorea, porque siempre me aporta un montón de buenas ideas con sus comentarios y su blog. Había comprado varios obis negros y no sabía muy bien que hacer con ellos. Uno fue campo de pruebas de mis sádicos experimentos como pasarlo por decolorante o, cuando el negro intenso se resistía, directamente por lejía. Hasta que llegó la entrada del bordado sagara. Inmediatamente me puse manos a la obra y este es el resultado.

Today I have to start by thanking Lorea, because she always gives me a lot of good ideas with her comments and her blog.  I had purchased several black obis and I did not quite know what to do with them. One was a testing ground for my sadistic experiments likepass it trough a bleaching agent  or when he resisted intense black,  I did bleach it directly. Until he reached the entrance Sagara embroidery. I immediately got to work and this is the result.

Usé el bordado sagara para dar unos toque de color al obi. Están la niebla en azul, y el resto de colores con arcos, hojas y flores. No sobrebordé todo el obi porque en la tela teníamos las figuras ya en el tejido y taparlo sería pena.

I used the embroidering sagara to give some touch of color to obi. They are the fog in blue, and the rest of colors with arcs, leaves and flowers. I did not sobreembroider all obi because in the fabric we already had the figures in the weave and to cover it would be pain.

Pañuelos Shibori Scarves

Hoy os quiero presentar los pañuelos que he estado haciendo para esta época navideña. Son pañuelos de seda (Pongee 5) teñidos con distintas técnicas de shibori. Normalmente van en un solo color pero en algunos he hecho sobre teñidos para modificar el efecto.

Today I want to present the scarves I've been doing for the holiday season. There are silk scarves (pongee 5) stained with different techniques of shibori. They are usually one color but in some of then I've done an overdyed to alter the effect.

El kimono de Pedro Pedro's Kimono

Hoy he terminado el kimono de Pedro. Fue ponerle las últimas puntadas y lanzarme al blog a colgarlo.
Today I finished the kimono of  Pedro. Was to put the last stitches and jump to the blog to upload it.

La tela es una cretona de algodón. Ya sé que es una tela de tapicería, pero Pedro no va ir a ver al emperador del Japón y estamos en medio de una crisis económica inmensa. Así que reciclé este estampado en verde de rayas guapísimo. A mí me gusta mucho.

The fabric is a cotton chintz. I know it's an upholstery fabric, but Pedro is not going to go to visit the Emperor of Japan and we are in the midst of a vast economic crisis. So I recycle this print handsome green stripes fabric. I like a lot.

 

 

Pedro has 12 years but he did not want a child kimono style belt sewn to the neck and open sleeves. So I did it like an adult  one but smaller. As the come and get the first pictures I'll show it.

Pedro tiene 12 años pero no quería un kimono de estilo infantil con el cinturón cosido al cuello y las mangas abiertas. Así que se lo hice como si fuera para un adulto pero en pequeño. En cuanto venga a por el y consiga las primeras fotos os lo enseño.

Top 5 Mujeres en kimono Women in Kimono #4 Desconocida Unknown

Yo no sé muy bien si es esa pose desenfadada, o la persona que coloreo la yukata... pero lo cierto es que esta foto me tiene cautivado. Creo que es una foto bastante preparada por un occidental, fijaos como va a servir "sake" en un tazón de arroz (menuda borrachera), y además estas cámaras antiguas necesitan un tiempo muy largo de exposición. Pero el resultado es fantástico. No es una figura hierática. Es una mujer viva y normal en un momento relajado.

I do not know whether it is the casual pose, or the person that coloring the yukata ... but the truth is this photo has me intrigued. I think it's a picture quite ready for a Westerner, look how she will serve "sake" in a bowl of rice (what a hangover), and also these old camersa need a highly large time of exposure. But the result is fantastic. There is no hieratic figure. It's a normal woman alive and in a relaxed moment.

Hace algún tiempo, hablando en un bar, a Mayte le apetecía un kimono pero de corte no tan tradicional y algo que fuera "ponible". Rebuscando en internet, he encontrado estas imágenes que espero que sean del agrado de Mayte para que le haga su cosplay de Sekirei.

Some time ago, speaking at a bar, Mayte wanted a kimono but not on so traditional cutting and something that was "wearable". Digging on the internet, I found these pictures that I hope will be liked by Mayte for  make your cosplay Sekirei.

Hola a todos. Hoy inaguramos sección, mi top 5 de las mujeres en Kimono.
Hello everyone. Today we inaugurate a section, my the top 5 women in Kimono.

Aquí tenemos a Brisa con un komon de lana en gris plomizo o azul, dependiendo del monitor. Lo que más me gusta de esta foto es la expresión de su cara. Era la primera vez que se ponía un kimono y aún así transmitía cierta serenidad. Cierto que el kitsuke no es el más adecuado, hubo que renunciar al ohashori por sus proporciones pero el conjunto es realmente adorable.

Here is a Brisa with a wool komon leaden gray or blue, depending on the monitor. What I like about this picture is the expression on his face. It was the very first  time for her in kimono and still transmitting certain serenity. Actually the Kitsuke is not the right one,we must renounce to ohashori instead of  their proportions  but the set is really adorable.

Nuevo hanhaba obi New

Después de un tiempo de inactividad, mi kimono de invierno forrado me está llevando más tiempo del que desearía, os presento mi última creación. Se trata de un hanhaba obi.

After a timeout, my winter linned kimono is taking me longer than I wish, I present my latest creation. This is a hanhaba obi.

El tejido es un lienzo moreno. Este es un tejido duro ideal para hacer un obi más rígido y resistente a la torsión. Para endurecerlo un poco más lleva una entretela adhesiva. La tela está teñida con la técnica del shibori de cuerda a diferencia de mi anterior trabajo la tela se tiñó en azul primero. Después se aplicó el atado. Una vez atada se decoloró para asegurar la mayor penetración del tinte para teñirla después de marrón. Y este es el resultado. Espero que os guste. No hace falta deciros que no lo voy a usar así que si lo queréis es vuestro.

The fabric is a brown canvas. This is a hard tissue, obi ideal, for a more rigid and resistant to twisting. To harden a bit more carries a fusible interfacing. The fabric is dyed with shibori technique of rope as opposed to my previous job, the fabric is dyed in blue first. After the bundle was applied. Once tied I decolorized to ensure greater penetration of dye and finally I dye it in brown. And this is the result. Hope you like it. Needless to say I'm not going to use so if you want is yours.

Flor de agua, un posible mon / Water lily a maybe mon

Esta es la flor de agua, es un símbolo que se usa mucho en la cultura tradicional asturiana. Su origen es céltico y lo podréis encontrar grabado en todo el arco atlantico (Galicia, Asturias, la Bretaña francesa, Gales, Escocia e Irlanda) en un montón de superficies y utensilios. Y también, por la fotos en el blog de Lorea, lo podemos encontrar en otras partes de España.

This is the water lily is a symbol that is widely used in the traditional culture of Asturias. Its origin is Celtic and what you can find recorded in the whole arc Atlantic (Galicia, Asturias, french Brittany, Wales, Scotland and Ireland) in a lot of surfaces and utensils. And also, according to the photos on the blog of Lorea, can be found in other parts of Spain.

En Asturias tiene un significado que no he visto en ningún otro lado. Como en todas la tierras célticas, la noche de San Juan (el solsticio de verano) tiene un sentido de purificación y de renacer. Cuando amanece y los rayos de sol tocan por primera vez el agua se consideraba que ese agua estaba bendita. Por eso se llama flor en el sentido de la más pura, la más perfecta. Ese primer agua se recogía de las fuentes y para que nadie cometiera la torpeza de volver a recoger el agua se adornaban las fuentes con flores y ramas de árboles mientras se cantaban canciones. Una de las más conocidas hace referencia a una princesa que va a recoger la flor del agua y se encuentra con un mozo del que se enamora y, suponemos que gracias al agua, consiguen casarse y tener dos hijos que gobernarían en toda la España. Así que el agua es mágica y cura enfermedades, trae amores y no es que directamente conceda deseos pero parece que se hacen realidad cuando la bebes. El símbolo representa ese agua bendita.

Asturias has a meaning that I have not seen anywhere else. Like all the Celtic lands, the Midsummer (summer solstice) has a sense of cleansing and rebirth. When dawn breaks and the sun's rays first touch the water is believed that this water was blessed. A so-called Flower in the purest sense, the most perfect. That first water was collected from the sources and that no one committed the folly of returning to collect the water sources were decorated with flowers and tree branches while singing songs. Así que si tenéis oportunidad, recoged la primera agua del grifo de casa la mañana de San Juan y ponedla al sol y tendreis un hechizo céltico para atraer la buena suerte. También creo que tiene razón Lorea: para los que no somos japones y no tenemos una familia en concreto sería un estupendo mon para los kimonos formales.

So if you have a chance, pick up the first water tap home the morning of San Juan and put it in the sun and you will have a Celtic charm to bring good luck. I also think Lorea's right: for those who are not Japanese and we have no particular family mon would be a great  for formal kimonos.

Ultimamente he descubierto el placer de teñir la tela con la técnica del shibori. En Japón se denomina shibori a una serie de técnicas para realizar reservas en la tela mediante presión. Puede ser cosiendo, anundando, frunciendo, enrrollando, plegando,etc. Los diseños más elabarados pueden llevar más de una de estas técnicas consiguiendo unos efectos sorprendentes.

Recently I discovered the pleasure of dyeing cloth with shibori technique. in Japan shibori Is called to a number of techniques to make reservations for the fabric under pressure. It can be sewn, Anund, knitting, by wrapping, folding, etc. The elabarated designs may take more than one of these techniques getting some surprising effects.

Hoy voy a teñir una camiseta siguiendo el maki age shibori. Para ello necesitaré: Una camiseta blanca (si es de otro color puedes jugar con la combinación de colores y obtener un buen número de efectos), plantillas para la reservas, papel de calco, aguja, hilo y tinte.

Today I'm going to dye a t-shirt with the maki age shibori technique. For this need: A white shirt (if other color you can play with the color scheme and obtain a number of effects), templates for reservations, tracing paper, needle, thread and dye.

Yo he elegido un DVD como plantilla. Haré círculos. Para los más pequeños he usado un bote de apresto que tiene un circuferencia menor.

 I have chosen a DVD as a template. I will sketch circles. For the smallest I used a bottle of dressing that has a smaller circumference.

Luego he pasado el hilo a traves del dibujo. Es importante que este hilo se pueda apretar más tarde así que haced las puntadas de modo que corra el hilo.
Then I passed the wire through the drawing. It is important that this thread can be tightened later, so would do the stitches so that the thread runs.

Tirad ahora del hilo y enrrolladlo alrededor fijándolo. Crearemos así las bolsitas que veis en la fotografía.

Shoot now and roll the thread around fixing it. And we create the bags you see in the picture.

Sólo nos queda teñir la camiseta anudada siguiendo las instrucciones que da el frabricante del tinte. En cuanta la saque del tendal os la enseño.

We only have to dye the shirt tied following the instructions given by the dye. As soon as It will get dry I post the result.

Nagoya Obi

Por fín he finalizado la confección de mi primer nagoya obi. El trabajo fue laborioso pero creo que mereció la pena. Este es el resultado:

At last I finished making my first nagoya obi. The work was laborious but I think it was worth it. This is the result:

Había comprado la tela hace tiempo y no me decía a hacerlo. La tenía criando polvo en el armario. Pero encontré un post en inmortal geisha con buenas instrucciones para hacerlo y no me pude resistir. Este primero está totalmente confeccionado a mano. Todas y cada una de la puntadas, cada pespunte es manual. En el próximo quizá me modernice y lo haga a máquina.

He had bought the fabric for some time and told me not to do so. The was gathering dust in the closet. But I found a post on immortal geisha with good instructions for doing so and I could not resist. This first one is completely handcrafted. Each and every one of the stitches is manual. In the next maybe I modernize myself and I'll do it with the machine.

Hanhaba Obi

Después de mi baja casi forzosa por fin os presento mi hanhaba obi

Este obi está realizado con la misma técnica con la que realicé el kaku obi para hombre, el shibori de cuerda. El hanhaba obi es el menos formal de todos los obi. Se usa con el komon, el kimono de diario, y con yukata. Tiene unos 15 cm de ancho y unos 333 de largo y os permitirá hacer casi cualquier nudo que queráis. Si os interesa os animo a hacer click en el enlace de artesanum (mi tienda en internet) y si no mandadme un correo. Puedo realizarlo en cualquier color que me pidáis.
This obi is made with the same technique that I made the kaku obi for men, the string shibori. The hanhaba obi is the least formal of all the obi. Used with the Komon, the kimono dayly, and yukata. It is about 15 cm wide and about 333 long and will allow you to do almost any knot you want. Hoy os quiero enseñar una pieza que conseguí hace unos días en ebay:

Se trata de los papeles originales para el estampado y bordado de la tela de un kimono. Estos papeles, según decía el vendedor, se están convirtiendo en algo raro más que nada por la extensión de la impresión vía computadora. Este papel que veis a la izquierda consta de 4 hojas en la que los motivos florales se enmarcan en una especie de triángulos (o abanicos) y en algunas de la hojas de papel aún se pueden ver correcciones de última hora del diseño. El papel de abajo consta de 14 hojas (probablemente para estampar la tela para un humongi). Me gustaría encontrar algún kimono realizado con estos dibujos. Sería curioso.

Today I want to show a piece that I got on ebay a few days ago:

These are the original papers for printing and embroidery of the fabric of a kimono. These papers, according to the seller, are becoming a rarity more than anything for the extension of the print via computer. This role that you see on the left consists of four sheets in which the floral motifs are framed in a kind of triangles (or fans) and some of the sheets of paper can still see last-minute editing of the design. The bottom part consists of 14 sheets (presumably to affix the fabric to a humongi). I would like to find a kimono made with these drawings. It would be funny.

Accidente laboral - occupational accident

Hoy tenía pensado presentaros mi última creación: Un precioso hanhaba obi realizado con la misma técnica de teñido que el kaku obi de caballero. Desgraciadamente a la cuarta vez que me clavé la parte trasera de la aguja cosiendo el obi mi dedo medio de la mano derecha dijo basta así que no he podido terminarlo. En cuanto me recupere os pongo las fotos.

Today I've planned to present my latest creation: A beautiful hanhaba obi made with the same technique of dyeing as my kaku obi for gentleman. Unfortunately for the fourth time I stuck the back of the  needle sewing the obi, my middle finger from my right hand just said stop and I could not finish it. When I recovered I put the photos of the obi.

Kaku obi

Solo tenía un heko obi en mi colección. Así que me he puesto las pilas y me he hecho uno nuevo.

Este obi es de lienzo moreno, teñido con una subtécnica del shibori japonés llamada shibori de cuerda. Básicamente se trata de enrollar alrededor de una cuerda la tela haciéndole pliegues para conseguir la texturas y dibujos que véis. El teñido es un procedimiento bastante arduo por el tiempo y por la cantidad de pliegues que hay que hacer pero tengo que reconocer que el resultado me gusta mucho.

Este obi pertenece a mi colección privada pero siempre os puedo hacer uno. Ya sabéis que para cualquier encargo, estoy listo.

Stock de Telas

Hoy os quiero mostrar el stock de telas que tengo en casa por si os apetece haceros algún kimono. This is my fabric stock in case you want to order a kimono. I have it at home so if you puchase I'll star the confection inmediatly

Esta tela es un algodón con los dibujos en índigo y el fondo blanco. Es una tela muy fresca, ideal para confeccionar un yukata de hombre.
Cotton cloth for yukata in withe and indigo blue

La siguiente tela es un paño de lana azul marino. Es una tela muy abrigada que sirve tanto para hacer un kimono como un haori (chaqueta para el kimono).

The following material is a dark blue woolen cloth. It is a very warm fabric that serves both to make a kimono or a haori  (kimono jacket).

Después tenemos esta preciosa muselina de lana estampada con motivos costeros. Es muy adecuada para hacer juban. Juban es el kimono interior. El cuello que se observa debajo del kimono muchas veces es el del juban.

Then we have this beautiful chiffon printed wool coastal motif. Best suited for juban. Juban kimono is the interior. The neck is observed many times under the kimono is the juban

Esta otra tela es un seda ro (o seda calada) con motivos de olas tejidos. Esta seda está muy demandada por el verano. Este rollo en concreto se usa para hacer un obi femenino.

The other fabric is a silk ro (or silk set) wave motif fabrics. This silk is in high demand in the summer. This roll is used specifically for a female obi.

Por último tengo esta tela, la única no japonesa, que es un paño sintético que me gustó por los cuadros. Me parece una tela muy divertida para hacer un obi o un kimono para niños. Es bastane abrigada así que podrán pasar un buen septiembre dentro de sus kimonos.
Finally I have this material, the only non-Japanese, which is a synthetic cloth that I liked for  the motif. I think a lot of fun fabric to make an obi or kimono for children. It is quite warm so they can spend a good September in their kimonos.

Como ponerse un yukata - las cosas que necesitas

Este es un tema complejo. En japón hasta se realizan cursos y para poder vestir a gente de manera profesional tienes que pasar un examen y demostrar que se tienen los conocimientos adecuados. Ya os iré explicando poco a poco. También deciros que hay gran diferencia entre los kimonos de hombre y de mujer a la hora de ponérselo. El kimono de hombre tiende a ser más sencillo y el de mujer se complica un pelín. Sobre todo con los complementos. En este caso vamos a ver qué cosas necesitas para vestir un yukata de hombre.

Yukata- Kimono de algodón o lino. Es más fino que los kimonos corrientes del mismo material

Koshihimo- Es una cinturón suave que sirve para fijar inicialmente el kimono

Geta- No es imprescindible, los japoneses suelen ser bastante aficionados a mezclar ropa tradicional con calzado occidental, pero ayuda a completar el traje.

Obi- Este sí es el cinturón definitivo que se va a ver y que lleva un nudo decorativo.

Ropa interior- La ropa interior no es obligatoria, pero se recomienda llevar algo para no manchar el kimono de sudor, a parte de los consabidos slip y demás.

En la próxima entrega aprenderemos a ponernos el yukata.

Obi para niños

Aquí está el Obi que le llevo haciendo a mi ahijada. Lleva el nombre bordado en caracteres japoneses y un sol en un extremo. En cuanto se lo ponga la primera vez postearé fotos para que veáis el resultado.

Here is the Obi I've been doing to my goddaughter. Named after Japanese characters embroidered on a sun at one end. As soon as she set the first time I'll post photos so you can see the result.

Kimono sexy

En la cultura japonesa hay dos zonas consideradas altamente eróticas. La primera es la nuca. Por eso vemos como la dejan al descubierto al llevar kimono. La segunda es en la abertura de la manga. Los japoneses consideran muy sexy que se deje ver el juban, el kimono interior,por esta abertura.

En esta foto vemos a Brisa con un magnífico komón y fijaros como se le ve el juban a través de la trasera de la manga. Muchas gracias a Brisa por hacer de modelo desinteresadamente. Podeis ver más cosas sobre ella y su trabajo en http://mecameka.blogspot.com/  Realmente sorprendente

El kimono de Monchín

Monchín es el marido de Mónica. Y como van siempre juntos, ella en kimono y el de calle como que no pegaría. Así que aquí está el kimono de Monchín:

Este es un kimono hitoe (sin forro) en lana. Es más sobrio que el de su mujer pero tiene cierto aire divertido por los cuadros. A mí personalmente me encantan los cuadros en el hombre, bien sea en camisa, kimono o lunghi.
This kimono is a hitoe (no lining) Wool. It is more sober than his wife but has a certain amused by the pictures. I personally love the pictures on the man, either in his shirt, kimono or Lunghi.

Seguro que harán una pareja encantadora. Así que maridos del mundo, ¿qué mejor regalo para vuestras esposas que un kimono hecho a mano y vuestra compañía a la hora de vestirlo?
